OSTEOPATHY

An Osteopath is like to a mechanic for your body.  The underlying philosophy of Osteopathy revolves around structure and function, with treatment aiming to improve the function of your body. “Hands on” techniques such as deep tactile pressure, stretching and manipulation restore optimal movement to the muscles, tendons, joints, organs and connective tissues of the body. This treatment affects the functioning of the whole body via connections with the nervous, circulatory and lymph systems.

Osteopathic treatment is most commonly sought after for musculo-skeletal problems such as: back and neck pain, back pain during and after pregnancy, postural and or mobility problems, arthritis, joint pain, sports injuries, injuries from road and domestic accidents, migraine and headaches, jaw pain, neuralgia and sciatica. As well as musculo-skeletal problems, Osteopathy can also help with asthma and breathing difficulties, digestive problems, gynaecological problems and lowered immune function. Osteopaths are government registered practitioners of manual medicine. Samantha Sherrington has completed 5 years of full-time university study and has been in fulltime practice since 2003.
